Not to highjack my own thread but I built a Centuri Stilleto clone from Semroc. Beautiful kit! I didn't launch it as a two stage because I was afraid I'd lose the first stage if I couldn't see it. It went up nice though. (I almost lost the top section of an old Estes Twister that I built in the 90s because I couldn't see it at appogee. My son found it probably 200 yards down wind.)

Ahhhh, she ain't really that hot and you can just turn on the View, Entertainment Tonight or a thousand other such shows and see the video. With all the hot Sci - Fi chicks posted on this forum she would fall a bit short! |

It is good to see so much activity even if it is in the Dead or Alive section. Also good to see someone building and flying airplane rocket kits. Except for an occasional Estes F-15 or SR-71 it has been very rare, at least at our club, to see someone else with a Sunward, DynaStar, or even Quest X-15 rocket plane. |

Soooooo... if some enterprising member of the forum had the skills and knowledge to mold a cockpit nosecone and make casting resin copies that didn't shrink like a bee-yotch, there may be a few takers?

This is not hard to do. The problem is when you need to make lots of them. Gets expensive and time consuming. Rotational moulding takes about an hour to do. Doing other ways makes it a solid and therefore heavy and expensive (lots of material used)

Anyone still looking for these cokpit cones, I have a few in the pile - would part with a few, either trades or maybe cash - could use a few of the normal ST13 plastic cones, so make me an offer * greedy smile * , lol...
Looking forward to getting back to building and flying - not done anything rocketry related in a year, work issues, life issues, etc ..... hope the skills did not get lost, lol. Pray the new Mrs ( as of 11-11-11 ) allows me to still get away ~ AL |
