I agree! When the large yellow and black and the orange/brown garden spiders return/un-hibernate, revive from torpor etc., the pita bugs start to dwindle. We also have "house spiders" which tend to build webs inside the screened porch. I've watched them zip down a silk thread like a dragster, grab a bug, and bite/wrap said bug. Fascinating. Bob p.s.there was one orange garden spider a few years ago (possibly its relative now?) that I named Shelob, makes an orb web in the same place annually - quite the bug assasin.

I stand by my spider statement. Good ones are SMASHED ONES.
I'm a fan of the pesticide/insecticide industry and favor bringing back several banned ones.
