New Design: Stellar Nomad
This one took a little tweaking but I think I pull it off. Its called the Stellar Nomad and it somewhat of an unusual design. This design, I fell, has alot more potential and can be improved as a sci-fi design for future when time allows.
Enjoy and Thanks Again, JP James Pierson NAR# 77907 |

You have got to love those fins that Buzz came up with. WOW! Now thats craftmanship. I just don't have the patience for that kind of craftsmanship.
This design is called the Solar Seeker. Its the first time I have simmed 1/4" fin stock material for the solar panels. It also just might be in the under 500 foot class, on a C6-3 it get 423 feet. I am working on this designs bigger brother and am making it a double payloader as well. Thanks and Enjoy, JP James Pierson NAR# 77907 |

Thanks James. Building those fins up really wasn't that big a deal though. After I cut them I knew I'd have to beef those tips up a bit and remembered the Constellation. After I did the tips I thought I'd try that same technique to the fin root area. I should have done that on my Omega Centauri Probe (http://www-personal.umich.edu/~buzznau/plans.html). I need to build another one of those anyways (bigger perhaps?). If/when I do I'll try it.

the html for the hyperlink had a typo where the end ) was part of the link, this one should work.
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~buzznau/plans.html As for Buzz's Omega Centauri Probe... I've had that in the que since the plans were published in either AmSpam or MRN . Planning since day one to build it 137% upscale , using BT55 and clear BT50 tube. Even have the fins cut, but never got serious and tracked down a clear tube section - might work well with Semroc ST8 , although that's slightly undersized ( but is offered in 18" lengths . ( and everyone should check Buzz's site, lots of real cool photos there ) ~ AL |

Sorry about screw up with the link Dean. Thanks Al for posting it correctly and the kind words. I hope you get a chance to finish that upscale OCP. That sounds about the right size for it. The one thing I remember being a pain in the butt building that was getting the rings to fin inside the clear tube. If they are too tight they will warp. Also, the dowel attachment likes to break a lot. On an upscale I would definitely run the dowel through the tubes.
