Older postings suggest using more powerful Aerotech motors instead of the orignal instructions recommendation for an Estes motor. I was told that the engine mount would probably need to be reinforced. Would I just epoxy the mount from the back? Is there a professional way to apply it? I'd hate to hack it and try and do an ugly job of it.

I would recommend taking a look at the Apogee 1/70 Saturn V and copy their reinforcement technique at the forward end centering ring to reduce the flex to the center rings. Maybe even adding a trust ring just above that centering ring first.

May not be require, just insurance thought for longer term use.

I DO like the idea of just using a different motor! Simple!

If not already built, I'd do a little reinforcing as Flash suggests. If it is already built, I'd just fly it, stock card-stock motor mounts are surprisingly strong.
