NCR Bomarc Parts
I rescued a NCR Bomarc in an estate sale. Only problem is it’s missing a pylon. Anyone have one in their junkyard pile they are willing to part with? I’ve already contacted Matt Steele and no joy.

3D print one? I didn't mean the whole pod, just the ramjets

No, it's made from balsa and paper tubes

Sorry for responding so late. My Bomarc was in my Explorer and the weather kinda kept me away from it. But hey! It got up to 71 today and last week it was 1! I might even spray some primer!
The photo below shows the missing pylon and a ruler is provided for scale. The pods are vacuum formed so I was hoping someone either trashed theirs and I can get the pylons or maybe someone has the forms still that can be used to make new parts from. Worst case scenario is that I'm forced to fabricate them from BTs, card stock and nose cones (not very good at fabricating.... )

Don, On my NCR Bomarc, the nacelles were each 2 halves of vacuum-formed plastic. The two halves incorporated the standoffs. Wood blocks were sandwiched between the halves, then glued to the surface of the BT. This is the weakest point of the model. The joint would crack or get damaged every landing. I pulled them off, cut thru-the-wall slits, extended new standoffs to where they extended thru the BT about 1/2 inch or so. Then I used triangle stock on both sides of the standoffs inside the BT, using 30 minute epoxy. Very strong now. It looks and works great! It withstands landings well finally. If you need a copy of the destructions, let me know! Hope this helps! Allen |

They're pods are made differently (body tubes and turned nacelles) and I really didn't want to buy a new kit. But maybe they would be willing to sell the ram jets only......

Looking at the plans, the ram jet to body tube joint appeared to be a weak point. I'm sure who ever built this followed the plans and didn't do any "beefing up" of anything. The rear of the body tube shows that it's had at least one very hard landing.....
