I can’t say for sure if I had any boxes with the logo like that unless that’s the only boxes that SEMROC used to ship orders that year as I too reused mine to ship auction items to others or just tossed them when I ran out of room. I’m kind of amazed that after all the SEMROC boxes that landed on my porch in all those years that I don’t have a single box left and almost all my parts and unbuilt kits have been transferred into plastic bins.

I do know that logo on your box would make for a really cool fin decal for my finished SEMROC kits

That would be an awesome substitution, especially0 for the Estes Retro-repo kits.

Thanks everyone.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool too.

Just like my early days of flying rockets.
He's now 89 years young and still going.

For duration flights, launch from shopping center parking lots ( thermal activity over the hot pavement ).

I took that photo and converted it to B&W and tried to clean it up a bit to make decal art...
I'm not sure what "color" SEMROC and the highlights on the rocket are supposed to be. One version I made the word black and the highlights gray. The other I made both gray. You could make them whatever you like with a photo editor just like I did.

There are still some ragged edges, but I think scaled down will not be noticeable. Also is the background around the rocket supposed to be single color, or is it representing a starry sky? I couldn't be sure and made it solid.

Default Very sad news regarding Semroc and Carl McLawhorn

Roy, that was the first logo Carl made for our boxes. Really don't know why he changed to the last logo. He just came in and said to use the new one. Didn't really think about it at the time but it might have been when we and others first started having trouble with Estes.

Dave I like the all black one. I'll need to print a few of these out for future builds thanks for posting that!

yes, Carl was obviously trying to ape the Estes logo. We talked about it at NARAM in Cincy that year. Though I made lots of orders that year, that's the only box I got with that logo on it, so I thought it was fairly rare, but now I guess not.

Ok, I remember talking with Carl about that at NARAM 47 but don't remember the details of the conversation. I think that was the only order I got with that logo so I thought it was a fairly rare occurance, but then, I was a little late to the Semroc game (as I was to Semroc V1.0 -- got the catalog but waited way too long to make an order).
