I've got to go back and review the "Peak Of Flight" article to work this up, but the idea is you create a modified motor file for your selected motor, and adjust the settings to where the motor mass drops to zero (or as near to zero as it will allow...) at deployment.

The issue in question was describing special staging conditions, where you had parallel-staged motors (strap-on boosters, I think...) dropping off while the core motor was still burning. It's been a while since I read that article, so I'm not certain if I'm remembering it right.
