Make sure, if you could, you scan the parts so I can build a clone.
Send in the clones! I have a SR-71 kit and can use the nose cone for my clone.

I flew (2) of them and lost (2) of them. The first one is the one pictured earlier in this thread. It was too windy and I knew it. It went horizontal and then descended on I-88 and was flattened by a semi. The second one (photos below) I finished in U of M colors. It's flight was better, but it came down in a retention pond and sank. Water has been my rocketry nemesis--even more than trees. If I flew a rocket on the moon, it would find a way to come down in water. Personally, I like the navy blue and yellow scheme better than the black and red.

Yeah, that color scheme looks pretty sharp! Earl

With that delta wing I would be tempted to fly it a C6-7 to see if that wing would make the model glide. My old Klingon Battle Cruiser would glide when flown on a long delay motor.
I don't remember if I used all of the nose weight when building the model. I have found that the amount of nose weight supplied with Estes kits is usually conservatively more than needed for stable flight.

I think the main reason my Nightwing sank in the retention pond was because I’d used lead shot and epoxy for the nose weight. I’m not 100% sure but I believe oil-based plasticine clay actually floats and if I’d used it I might have recovered it. The “business end” of my Astro Cam 110 with 15 EXPOSURES ON THE ROLL rests at the bottom of that same retention pond.

That is why I never used 20 (or was it 24?) exposure rolls for Astrocam. I used 12 exposure rolls, and rarely if ever shot all 12. After all, I lost TWO Camrocs, one on flight 1, the other on flight 2, into the same Tree! (Only tree near the launch area). Then again, that was very early in the hobby, but I learned from it.

Finishing it in the Maize and Blue of U-of-M should have AUTOMATICALLY made it fly well.
