Default TBT..Space Age Industries

1969 SAI "Judge", I picked this rocket up in an Ebay lot several years ago. The rocket was well built by an early 'rocketeer', the NC/Fins were sealed and clear coated for a natural finish, body tube was painted then fins attached as was the aluminum LL. Very little ejection debris, I would guess it was launched maybe 1-2 times. There was a Bo-MAR chute included.

Very neat!

All I know of SAI is from old issues of Model Rocketry magazine.

Yeah, they came along late 60's early 70's.. I was in the military during that time, so I had never heard of them. There is a SAI catalog on Ninfinger.

We used to be a SAI dealer at CRS. They had tubes similar to FSI and hardwood nose cones. The kits concepts were more complicated than the recent 3FNC kits posted here. I suspect they believed in differentiation over simplicity.

SAI was unique and special in an era where same-same was avoided by Minimax, Enerjet, Centuri, Estes, Vashon, FSI, MPC, AVI, and many others.

AVI in particular was innovative in the sheer variety of powers and sizes of motors. I have not seen their accomplishments properly reported in historical records.

Megalog!

I suppose the same can be said of USR.
