This might be the time to admit to this....
I got a sample hand-marked "E57-8" at NSL last year. I flew it in August. I want more! https://flightsketch.com/flights/2759/

In the most rudimentary way possible, I multiply 57 by the .38 thrust time and get a total impulse of 21.66 n-s motor, where a full D is 20 n-s. I think that's about all we can expect from a deep cored motor in an E12 casing and still have room for that length delay. Was the casing full? Cool flight and data, btw! .

That would certainly be an interesting motor. But if those figures are right, or close, that really is just a ‘hot’ D and not really an E. But I am certainly glad they are at least working on some cored black powder motors! Earl

Hopefully, Estes will "transition" over to the 29mm casing. Lengthening it to 6" or longer would enable a potent "F100"-type motor !

From the vNARCON Manufacturers' Forum and some other 'digging' this is what I've been able to find out about the E57/E60 Estes motor: During the Manufacturers' Forum Bill Stine refered to the motor as "24mm (pause) long". I suspect it will use the 24mm x 95mm case used for the E9/E12 as companies tend to use items they already have in stock. (The 24mm X 95mm casing has been confirmed). Stine also said it would have 30 grams of BP so it would be USPS shippable. That will make it a low to mid-range Total Impulse 'E' motor. High thurst-short burn. The phrase used was 'deep core' so I wonder if a new igniter/starter will be required for it. There will be several delay times for the motor and likely a booster version also.

Finally a new worthwhile port-burning BP engine.
They should do the same with the 29mm F15-0.

My source for the motor suggested I use an Estes Sonic igniter (the ones they made for the relabeled Aerotech composites). I did, and it worked perfectly. tbzep: No, the case had about 1/2 inch unfilled. Or at least that's how it looks now, after being flown 11 months ago. The nozzle is huge! So these are Es like the 24x70mm Aerotech F41s are Fs (just barely over the line). They still are going to be quite fun if they can bring them to market.

I'd be more interested in a 29mm E or F core burning, but I'll take the 24mm!
That photo of a huge honking nozzle brings back SUCH memories! I burned many, many F100s and Rocketflite BP motors back in the day. I'm going to take my Centaur parts off the back burner. I'll need to put in an adaptor for 24mm in the booster stage.
