Yes, I was referring to that absurd- price $500 NCR kit.

The NCR Argo D4 Javelin kit uses many accurate 3D parts, including fins, boat-tails, adapters, and nose cones. These are made of a more expensive resin that has to be baked resulting in a PVC-like strength. If you have priced other 3D printed models or parts, you can see it is in line. I was at NARAM 63 to help with the FAI flyoffs. I have seen and held this model. It is very detailed, but it isn't for everyone. Some folks drop hundreds on fiberglas models and big motors. That is not for me. To each their own. Chas

People may buy them, just to "stick on a shelf", until they go OOP. Then, the prices will increase to "collectors". I have the feeling that this product will be short-lived. Dave F. |

Don't tease like that unless you know something. An E60-0 would be SO useful. I have parts for an upscale Centaur just waiting for a motor like that.

I am NOT "teasing" . . . Estes has been developing core-burner motors. The new E60 is based on the 24mm E12. It was hoped that they would be released by NARAM-63, but I have been hearing "August". Other than that, I have no more info. Dave F. |

Is this going to be a zero delay booster or will it also have delays? If it is a zero delay only, it could pack more of a wallop. The E12 is only a 27 n-s motor. If it has a delay, it will have about the same size grain but some of the propellant is lost by it being cored. It will be very close to a 20 n-s full D motor. However, if this is going to be a booster only, a longer fuel grain can be used and we could have a motor with something like 30+ n-s total impulse. We may have talked about this before, but I've forgot and the forum won't let me search for a short term such as "E60".
