What's going on at Bong this weekend (April 28-29)?
I heard there is some kind of rocket launch at Bong this coming weekend (April 28-29). Is that true? I know there is no TRA Wisconsin or WOOSH launch. So, does anyone know what it is? A co-workers father-in-law is driving a bus down to a launch there so she said.

There is an event involving a university(s) going on, USLI related possibly? I don't know exactly, but I do know Wildman will be there on Saturday. I don't know if it's a public event, Tim or Jackie can probably give you better specifics than I. There is SOMETHING going on .

ya think the forecast might call for raing rockets . sounds like additional rockets might not be appreciated...though visiting tim and restocking might work...I've got 1 or 2 'bump' hats .

Correct, it's really not a public affair. I have to run out to pick a couple loaned items up from Tim, and maybe grab a motor or two. The forecast is only a factor for me if the event is cancelled.

Thanks for the info. I knew it wasn't a WOOSH or TRA Wisc launch.

Just a note that TWA runs the range for this event. I can't speak for this weekend, but in the past there were opportunities for additional rockets to be flown (beyond those partaking in the WSGC program). If you're interested in flying, it may be worth your while to contact Frank or Bob from TWA.
Don't expect a full blown range setup. Do expect a rail pad or two, as well as some exciting flights . -Eric- |

If it is the usual college teams flying rockets I would park well away from the projected impact area.
I went to a couple of these a few years ago and have decided it's far safer to take the wife to a nice museum or art fair on these weekends. |
