except for the fact they can hit you in the head or put your eye out as you look up.....in the 60's with Estes being the Dominant motor maker ( of course there was Coaster and Prodyne for a while) I assume up until the Coaster and Prodyne appeared motor ejections were common place and not considered a safety hazard. Larger paper cases and plastic phenolic cases, that was a different thing. If GH had had his way, there would be a lot of one-eyed jacks among us rocketfolk today. LOL

I think the motor freeflight issue now only applies to NAR competition. There's nothing in the Safety Code about ejected motors nor nfpa 1122.
