Didn't want to lengthen the booster itself, which is not long enough to fit an E. Intriguing idea, though, and I do have another one in a bag.

Anyhow, the finished product. Another enjoyable build. John Boren, if you designed this one, props. It is right up my alley.

Noted some differences in the decals from those on the face card. The face card's little lines between the big blocks on the nose cone roll pattern contain words, "Something, something, Cradle here", I think. Similarly, between the fins, the yellow stripes on the decals have text also: "CAUTION." The kit's decals have no text at either location.

Additionally, the text on the BT is considerably smaller on the supplied decal v. the face card. No problem, of course, but somewhat less intimidating.

Decal placement is different, also, in the instructions v. the face card. I went with face card placement.

Can't wait to fly this one!

That design sure has a Centuri influence.
Great work!

Wow, thanks everyone for the very kind words.

See the picture below for my next build, which should stretch my skills a bit.

One of the reasons I've been hesitant to pull this one out of the pile is that I wasn't sure what adhesive to use on the plastic. Does anyone know if the plastic used in the model is polyethylene, polypropylene or similar? Not being very strong in chemistry I'm unsure, but I was thinking about using the glue below. I know there are several members who are exceptionally well versed in this area, so thanks in advance.

Try a search, as there are a couple of build threads here (or references to them) from George Gassaway and others that discuss this in detail.

You are very right though to ask the question, because others have found out the hard way there is a mixture of plastics used, and regular 'tube type' Testors plastic cement is not gonna cut it for all parts of this kit.

In short, as I recall, the capsule and tower ARE styrene plastic and do ok with Testors. That is what I assembled my tower from (have not gotten to the wraps and fins yet).

But, the wraps and fins I think are ABS and will require a specific glue for that. I have my glue purchased for that, but off the top of my head can't recall which it is.

A search here will find the answer or others will chime in.

Use contact cement for the wrap.
Do NOT TRY any type of super-glue (CA) or tube-type Testors JUNK.
For building the tower use Tenax 7R or Plastruct Bondene.

Do a test on a scrap piece first. I used Permatex contact cement on a wrap and it melted it in two seconds. Very upset!

Here is a great build thread by James Duffy, and George Gassaway, that contains lots of great information. They took different approaches to some methods. Read the whole thing before starting. Lots of follow-ups and suggestions.
