I’m not much on flying rockets this small myself. I like mine around bt60 and above if possible, recovery systems work much better and the Rocket is easy to see through flight.

It’s nice to know that it can fly but thismodel will mainly be for display for me.

My Boyce 1/100 MR kit arrived today. It was shipped with two escape towers. That's a nice touch. Fly it with the first one and break it, then repair with the second one and make it a shelf queen!

Hey guys, we made a typo on the weight and altitude on the 1/100th Mercury Redstone kit. Actual weight is 18 grams and altitude with an A10 is 469 feet. Sorry bout that! We'll fix our website right away.

That will put it at about the same weight as the Alpha. After getting the parts, I couldn't fathom it ending up weighing more than a Bertha. I imagine my flights will be with a 1/2A3-2T. It's so tiny!

I remember the first time seeing the series of US manned rockets from MR through the Saturn V modeled in 1/100 scale. That Mercury-Redstone was simply dwarfed by the Saturn V, and it really drove home the tremendous increase in vehicle size as payload requirements increased on our march to the moon.
