Thanks Bob for the verification. Wow, I guess that really drives home just how cheap Chinese labor must be. I am glad American suppliers are still supplying the tubes. That is good. But, to be able to ship tubes to China, and heck, maybe even other parts that are made here, then shipped to China, packaged with parts made there (I assume some amount of the parts are actually made there), THEN, shipped alllllll the way back to the good ol’ USA, then one would have to assume the cost of doing that must be several shades of cost less than doing it all here domestically. I’m not griping at Estes in any way by these statements; costs are costs, and, contrary to what some think, businesses are not in business to be charities. Just because one runs a business does not mean they have bottomless pockets (ok, soapbox mode off). But it does seem to show that apparently it is muuuuch less expensive to do it the way Estes is doing it — even with having to ship parts over there and then having them shipped right back to the US in finished kits, than it would be to do it all here. Sounds exactly like something that would have been done by BT.

Quest used to have their kits bagged in China, also. I don't know if they do that anymore.

A few years back, some Quest kits may have had their tubes made in China. I remember getting a few kits where the tubes were terrible! Rough with wide wide seams, didn't feel as strong. But, if I bought tubes separately from the Quest website, they were of the usual Euclid (Now owned by Paramount) quality.

Yes, Estes tubes are still made in Ohio. Almost all rocket tubes are made in Ohio. Paramount also owns the company that makes blue tube. And other various rocket tubes. Paramount also makes my square tubes. Euclid has special equipment that makes the rocket tubes smooth and with tighter seams. It’s a slower process than regular cardboard tubes.

No, he means this stuff:
https://www.apogeerockets.com/Build...ubes/Blue_Tubes Though in reading further it might actually be the same as or similar to "fish paper"

Sounds like the "Tough Tube" that Uncle Mike's Rocket Shack used to sell.
