Default USS Edsel Ford... A Sci-Fi Build

Armed with a Galan Pang sketch, I've set about to build a flying model rocket version.

Should be a challenging build, just right for a long cold winter.

BT-300 based with a rear eject 29mm spool.

Default OpenRocket Simulation

Open Rocket shows it to be a flyer on a G80 or slighter less robust motor.

Well, it certainly has the appeal of an Edsel.

Default CAD Model Rev 03

Made some changes to the CAD model. Flipped the upper rear stabilizers which more resembles the sketch by Galan Pang.

Looks closer to a DeSoto, another deservedly DEFUNCT vehicle brand.

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, AGITATION, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, AGGRAVATION, INSTIGATION, NUISANCE-ACTION, and HAVOC !

That "grille" is more like an ugly BEAK/SNOOT.

I have a 2nd cousin that collects/restores Edsels of all things....
Brains does not run on that side of the family.

I want to see the inside of the cockpit. When I was a young lad, our neighbors had an Edsel. I loved the automatic transmission push buttons in the center of the steering wheel.

The push button shifter was optional on the Edsel. Interesting idea, but was high maintenance at that time in history.
