Wow, that IS a micro! What is the diameter of the two Recruit side boosters?

The recruits started life as bamboo skewers O.D. Turned to 0.09” on a Dremel.

I didn’t feel the need for my lathe.

Hey, whatever works!

So, I guess that puts those Recruits just a bit fatter than a toothpick or thereabouts? That’s some pretty fine handiwork at those sizes…probably more of a challenge in some respects than working at larger sizes.

BTW, that MRC kit is a fairly decent scale kit. I’ve got one in the build pile.

The painting was much harder on the micro.

The MRC kit is enormous! It’s 34” tall plus it comes with three interchngable motor mounts, one for 18mm motors, one for 24mm motors and one with a 24mm moons with mounts for two effects smoke motors.

Really a fun kit to build and very close to Mr Always specs.

I could image a jeweler's loupe coming in handy for painting the micro version!

I have built one of the MRC Concept II kits so far (the Flare Patriot...straightforward three-fin kit), but have all the others. But, like the others, the Flare Patriot also has the three removable mounts, etc, and those work pretty good. Just haven't got to building the others yet. But the Trailblazer is a very nice scale kit. I'm looking forward to tackling it at some point.

Catalog pages of the Concept II line attached.

Gordy,

I am impressed! My fingers really cannot handle BT-5 builds, and BT-20s aren’t much easier!

Well, to be perfectly honest the tiny fins on the sustainer were a bit problematic.

I wound up making and trying thee sets before I got it right.

Fortunately it didn’t take a lot of wood to make them.
