That's just stunning news because it appeared, at least to me anyway, that she was getting out of the rocketry business. Were you a customer in the past?

Hmmm... does she have contact information in the way of a website?

[Arte.Johnson] Very interesting [/Arte.Johnson].

If you go to the SHR website it shows as being owned by Red Arrow Hobbies..Interesting he should receive that e-mail, unless it came from Dave of RAH going thru the old 'back orders' when he acquired SHR?

Wait, wait. Before you send that money out there, I have this nice bridge to sell you in Milwaukee!

Default Saturn Choice

Excelent Choice on the Semroc . I haVE Built models of nearly everything in every meda concivable. And the Semroc saturn Is one of the best kits of any type made. (IMHO) . Ironically I flew mine monday on the 3 c motors and it flew perectly. I did add the Apogee nose to it and put a 30 inch chute for a nice cushy landing.

When you build the 1B , 1 thing to note . When you glue the fuel tank mounts on , get one of the the tank tubes and watch the alignment. Even with the register marks you can get a wanky twist going .

However if it is your first scale kit , it would not hurt to a zooch saturn 5 . When the 1B is done , you will really want to take care when flying it . the Zooch 5 you can toss in a box and fly it in anything anf it looks decent if you just add a few external details

I think J. meant 4 C motors. The Semroc flies great on a cluster of 4 C6 motors, it really just depends what you prefer, BP clusters, or AP. And with those great Quest Q2G2 igniters, flying clusters has never been easier.

Default oops

yes 4 c's , I think you were there paul. and you are correct I flew several clusters on the Q2 igiters , never a failure . I had 5 motors in the honest john .
I plan on putting 5 in my Saturn V . 1x24 and 4x18 vented . So I can run AP 24 if i want or 5 BP motors if I feel like it .

Q2 and Q2G2 igniters?

I am a rookie to clusters and would like to know more.
Can you recommend a setup? Which launch controller?
The more engines the larger the launch controller....

Default clusters

It is not a bigger controller , just alot of power . If you are at any club launch you will be fine. An estes launch controller MAY fire a cluster , once.

What i did is solder wires to the battery connector , run lamp cord to replace the stock wires , and made them 25 ft long . the added some clips. I use a 12 volt gel cell but any hefty 12 volt battery will work.

The Q2 igniters are insulated so you need not worry about shorts . Estes igniters are ok, but with a saturn that you invest alot of time in the build it is worth the insurance to use better igniters .

I have a pic someone took with a high speed cam of a 4xD cluster and you can see the ignition and the harness blowing away . It was a perfect ignition

I think a central RMS 24 F24W (or a single-use F32 ) with 4 outboard 18mm D10W SU motors in that 5 motor Saturn V cluster would be a great combo.
130 n-sec of G64 FUN !
Now THAT would be a FLIGHT in a 1/100 Saturn !

Then again, a SINGLE 29mm G64 reload would do the same thing and one would only need to ignite ONE engine reliably.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, and HAVOC !
