Does the kit have a North Carolina address? |

My first My Boid (and first Semroc kit) did not have slotted tubes, nor does the artwork inside the instructions for which I posted the "face card" indicate that they would be slotted.
I just checked a My Boid kit I acquired some time between that first one and the time Semroc was acquired by eRockets. No date, no slots. I had thought that the slots, along with the fiber rather than balsa fins and the 13mm mount in place of the 18mm mount were all done by Randy.

I will check when I get home tonight. I am almost positive it does not say Dayton Ohio. Quote:
The My Boid I have has a slotted tube, balsa fins, and is 18mm. |

So the fin slots must have been a running change at some point. While looking for the My Boid instructions I came across a copy of the Astron instructions. They are similarly laid out with a big exploded view with the steps around it. That one is slotted tubes and save for the fin shapes could have been the My Boid instructions. Hmmmmmmmm......

Yes. The face card is identical to the one BEC posted. Bought late in the NC run if I remember right when I was buying the last of the kits I wanted fearing they might all go away. |

Carl made this change after a few years to make it easier for first time builders. For those whom have ever written instructions, know what a time communing task this is. If there was any similarity with the kits, he would use the same instructions, changing building techniques if required. |
