Engine expense isn't an issue because I don't intend to launch it often, it'll be too special a bird.

Checked the EMRR site today. (Don't know why I didn't think of that before.) A wealth of info there on the 30th anniversary limited edition, which should apply to the #2001 also since it seems to have less flimsy construction. The most interesting find was the idea of keeping a stock motor mount and adding four 13mm mounts where the other scale engines would be, and using 1/4A T motors for FX with an E15 as the main thruster. I'm not sure if this is what I'll do yet, but it sure would make a nice looking launch, and it's especially appealing because the 13mm come four to a package.

Finally arrived today! This was kept in great condition. All parts are present, all inner parts bags are sealed. Only minor defects are the main body coupler and reinforcing ring are out-of-round. No crimps or creases though, so this shouldn't be a problem. Darn it! Now I'm torn between building as I intended, and preserving this condition for the future. Anyone know of any plans to re-release this anytime soon?

Mine used a 3X 18mm cluster, and it was pretty cool... I think the 5 would be better than the compposite 24mm idea if only for the black powder fire and smoke...
