And she would have turned 100 on Jan 17. What a loss. The Mary Tyler Moore Show has lost basically its last three big stars this year: Betty, Ed Asner, and Gavin Macleod.

RIP, Betty.

Everyone needs to 'pony up' on January 17. Donations to a local animal shelter or animal rescue organization. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/bettyw...lter-donations/

Or adopt a pet and cut their overhead! My Belgian Malinois is a kill shelter rescue. He's an amazing beast. I don't know how anybody could have given him up. Ok, he has the energy of a thousand suns, but still...

Our little mutt and both cats are from kill shelters. They’re our kids.

Our youngest daughter was a huge fan of the Golden Girls. I remember watching it a lot with her — really our whole family enjoyed it. Betty White was our favorite character.

On the subject of rescue pets, we had these two at the same time. I am not sure why we thought it was a good idea. I’d have either a Rottweiler or a Great Pyrenees again, but not together. When they played inside, it was best to seek high ground until things settled down.
