Default Giant Omega at NARAM 2000

Hi Gang!

It was over 11 years ago when I was first starting Blast From The Past that I took the kids and myself from San Diego to Penrose CO for NARAM 2000 at Vern Estes' ranch. They couldn't get a waiver approved for high power but there was a GIANT Omega there on display.

Does anyone know who built it or what happened to that big beautiful rocket?

I'm starting on my level 3 project next weekend, a 10" diameter Omega!

Welcome, Mike.

It's about time you showed up here.

I remember that big Omega at NARAM-42. Too bad it didn't get to fly due to the waiver being cancelled at the last minute.

Will you be staging YOUR Omega?

Hey Bob!

Yes! I'm putting the finishing touches on the Rocsim design to get the mechanical aspect completely worked out. I'm building it for staging but the cert flight will be on the rocket and if it survives, I'll rig the staging for the next launch at Plaster City.

I remember it, but can't tell you anything about it. I did find two photos that I took of it.

I met Mike in person (and shared a motel room with him) a year later at NSL 2001.

(conspiratorial voice) So Mike... Last I knew you were Sparky 2.0, and then 4.0... (sly look)

Cheers from your buddy,
