DAVE,
Yes and No. This is the nose cone from the reissue of the Estes Maxi-brute V-2 kit that I just now opened. It is jammed hard into the BT-101 tube. Gentle prying hasn't worked, so the tube would have to be sacrificed. I can let this go as I have an original V-2 nose cone and body tube in my collection. Don't recall why I have it, but savor the small victories. Chas

Hi Chas, do you have any thick rubber ( cushioning tile) ? if so put on a pair of gloves that will give you a better grip and hold the body tube near the top and give the tip of the nose cone a quick smack into the rubber on a hard surface. the force has to be quick hard and at an extreme right angle. this should dislodge the cone from the tube. I did a couple of different techniques to no avail. Quick tip : thighs don't work well.
The ridge on the nose cone has imprinted on the tube, making it a bit tougher. Chas

Just as an FYI, Randy Boadway at eRockets sells BT-101 tubing. Just rip that sucker away from the cone and replace with a new section.
Even better, a glass tube rolled from a sheet of .015" G10 sheet is easy to do. See: https://www.rocketryforum.com/threa...-5#post-1852935 James |

Look's like a problem

Chas . you got me thinking. so I cut the tape on the V-2 Kit I have and I think there are going to be a lot of People with this same problem. My kit was packed the same way and there ain't no way that the Nose Cone is coming out with out cutting the Tube away. Well I have to guess that everyone that reads this should check to see if they share the same problem. Neal I GOT IT OUT. OK I held the nose cone into the rubber mat on my desk and started to work the nosecone back and forward as I turned the tube and the cone came out. I was careful and there is no damage to the body tube. so I repacked the kit with the cone at the bottom ant the tail cone at the bottom. the tail cone cannot get stuck in the body tube.

But don't rip it. Just cut a slot into it in a place or two and it will let go. Use the rest of the tube for ring fins (Starlab) or spice it to make a large diameter, light weight Saturn 1B base section.
