Accur8 skins for 1/100 Saturn 1B
John Pursley drew up a set of skins for a 1/100 Saturn 1B. I believe (but am not sure) that he used and assumed a combination of some of his 1/100 3D parts plus the older Estes Saturn 1B would be used for the model.
If there is anyone who is planning to build EITHER and older Saturn 1B or the newly release Saturn 1B and would like a free set of skins to potentially use, let me know. The requirements for this are: 1. You really, really plan to build a 1/100 1B in the VERY near future (like starting it in the next month or sooner). 2. You are willing to try the skins I send you to see how well they work. 3. You are willing to send me some feedback and maybe a pic or two. If you are building an older Saturn 1B kit I could include a set of Accur8 1/100 1B 3D printed (they don't work with the newer kit). If you meet the qualifications an are willing to commit to building a Sat 1B Real Soon Now then I would send you a free set of skins (and fins if you are building the older #2048 1B). For either kit I will throw in an Accur8 1/100 Apollo nose cone and LES. SERIOUS responses only, please. This project is on a short fuse. Thanks.

I'm in the painting stage of the earlier Estes Saturn 1B.

So the model is totally built? I'll send you a skin set if you want. I'm not sure you can apply the tank skins after the rear thrust structure/tank fairing is glued on but you are welcome to try. Send me your snail mail address. If you would test fit the 2nd stage and service module skins (with the backing attached) I would appreciate knowing that they fit. Also see if the fin skins fit the Estes fins. I'll send you a capsule/LES, too. And please switch to PM to keep your address private. Thanks.

I will test fit ASAP. Funny you mention the capsule/LES. I had a slight incident with the dog (he's a Belgian Malinois...nuff said) and the tower ended up broken. I haven't gotten around to repairing it yet. For folks that don't know, Belgian Malinois translates to: Bull on a never ending supply of crack and meth in a China shop.

Yeah...The Belgian Malinois can be a BIT of a DEstructive breed.
Probably the only breed worse at that is the Basenji. We literally had recliner-levers chewed off chairs by those many years ago. Without almost constant attention indoors, Basenjis will destroy most anything.

Did John have 3D parts and skins for the Semroc 1/70 Saturn 1b? I plan to build one over the summer and was looking to use 3D printed parts. I would be willing to purchase these if available. Thanks!

They are intense when they work, but they are big goofballs when the work is done and they finally wind down for a few minutes.

I will get this thread back on track and say that I have the 'testers' (Guinee Pigs?) I needed.
Thanks to responders and testers.
