Astron Sprint (K-49) clone
Final coats of DupliColor clear lacquer applied today.
Body tube , nose cone, and miscellaneous bits courtesy of eRockets. Boattail template sourced from PayloadBay.com. Fins from 3/32" balsa, scalpel, not laser cut... Recovery streamer material from Walmart party supplies. Fin decals inkjet printed on clear waterslide paper. Local club (SEVRA) launch scheduled for this Saturday, A8-5's and B6-6's at the ready if I can get there... |

Looks great. On a still day I'd be tempted to fly it on a C6-7. What size streamer did you put in it?

Speaking of which, the plans say the C/G should be no further back than 6.5" back from the body tube/nose cone intersection, is that with or without a motor installed? The Rocksim file for the Sprint that I pulled from Rocket Reviews reflects a C/G 22.4 cm back from the tip of the nose cone, approx. 11.4 cm back from the body tube / nose cone intersection (for 2.87 Cal of stability) r/ Dave |

IIRC, the nose weight gives it a little inertia for coast phase for better altitude even if it isn't needed for stability.
