New Design: Galactic War Rat
Here is a new design which uses a conbination of tube fins and the Plutonic Avenger and Silver Sleek fins. The name however seem to be somewhat lacking in character but, what the Hay .
Might as well through in another mini jet here as well, so here is Mini-Jet #12. Enjoy And Thanks Again, JP James Pierson NAR# 77907 |

Rocksim fixed and Updated
Finally fixed my Rocksim problems. Decided a few days ago to reload Rocksim to find that illusive New Data file so I uninstalled and re-installed, then my problems began. I ended up missing all my help files and the simulations would not run anymore , I did however find the data file with a sub-file of New to update my parts files which I did. I also recieved the program update from Apogee as well. I decided to uninstalled and re-installed again after noticing that my Rocksim disk was quite dirty. Everything works great again . Who would of thought that a dirty disk would cause so many problems .
Thanks Again for the help Craig, JP Currently recovering from Rocksim Withdrawls! James Pierson NAR# 77907 |

Glad to hear things are back as they should be, James. Now, you can start filtering through the CSV files with OpenOffice Calc, or Excel, or Quattro, to remove the still-duplicated entries that wind up there. The RockSim User Guide has a little information on the format the data is stored in, so be sure to look through that.

11th day Before Christmas
11th day Before Christmas What we have here is a new design I call the Fireball #5000. Its another mini, 13mm rocket design, using a ping pong ball. I was going for the flaming comet of fire look so I hope you all like it.
Enjoy and to ALL a Merry Christmas. James Pierson NAR#77907 |

Andromeda Update
Well, a prototype now exists for the Andromeda, needing only the paper skins and primer before final assembly. I'm giving this model a preliminary Skill Level 3 for those fins. The fin structure really needs those paper skins for reinforcement; they're quite fragile even using 1/8" balsa sheet. Once the fins are glued to the shrouds, they should gain some strength. I may have to lay out the design differently for a future attempt. When I get the skins on this one, I might poke a few holes through the paper and let the CA wick through the surface to form "rivets".

10th day Before Christmas
Craig, thanks for keeping us updated on the Andromeda build. I sure hope that Santa brings you that camera because we really want to see some build photo's here .
10th day Before Christmas. This next design I call the Megga Dogfighter for the lack of a better name. Its kind of like an messed up X-Wing with more firepower . It has an 18mm motor mount and falls in the VR class of designs. Enjoy and to ALL a Merry Christmas. James Pierson NAR#77907 |

FIREFLY (the series) SERENITY (the spaceship)
What can you master designer whiz-kids do with getting this vehicle rocketized?

9th day Before Christmas.
Chris, that's quite a difficult design to sim. The upward sweeping forward cockpit area would be the hardest part. I like that design though, so keep them coming as I am always looking for new Inspiration.
9th day Before Christmas. Here is an oddball model design that I found on e-bay, the Convair. Seems to be overall a good design with an 18mm motor mount and fall once again in the VR class of designs. Enjoy and to ALL a Merry Christmas. James Pierson NAR#77907 |

Convair was the design company behind the B-36 Peacemaker. This was obviously a concept design from the late 1950's or early 1960's, predicting what space travel might be like in our present day. A lot of nuclear propulsion ideas came from that era. In fact, it looks to me like it might have even inspired the movie version of Arthur C. Clarke's Discovery (from 2001: ASO).
