S-125 Goa Build
I decided to scratch build a Russian GOA surface to air missile and thought others might like to see what a GOA looks like. My plans are to make master parts that I can mold parts from so I can make several models if needed for testing. At take off the rear fins rotate back which I plan to do on this model as well. The only commercially made body tubes on the model will be the motor mount and the 4" Dia. booster section. If there is any interest I can post other photos of the build. I am currently working on the upper stage body and large upper stage fins.

If you haven't seen it already, there's a Peter Alway diagram
(and color photo) in the Jim Ball Scale data archive- http://www.rocketryonline.com/jimba.../images/goa.gif http://www.rocketryonline.com/jimba...images/sa-3.jpg I for one would love to see more of your build!

More Goa Images
One picture shows the rear end view of the real Goa. I turned the rear tail cone on the lathe today. I had some plywood parts laser cut to make up the rear end of the cone. Also shown is the turned upper stage inserted in the lower stage couple. The length of this model is 43.4 inches long when the fins are rotated back. Again all the big parts will be molded hollow to cut down on weight. The fins will be molded solid.

More GOA Pictures
It may not look like I've done anything these past couple days but many hours have been spent getting ride of flaws in the turned parts and fixing the bottom of the booster tail cone. Some how I made it .0625 inches too long so it took several hours to correct this error. Just a little more is needed on the upper stage before I can add the remaining details I wish to have in place before the female molds are made. Additional detail will be added to the final flyable part. My model is next to the drawing I am using to make this model from. The booster Body Tube is 4" Dia. which hopefully will give you a sense of this models size. I plan on using a 29mm F50 or similar size motor for the booster and a 24mm E motor for the upper stage. The other photo shows a more up close look at a part of the upper stage body. The upper stage was turned in three separate sections and then joined together.
