AAAAAAAAAAANYWAY.................................. ..................

Today I returned from my very successful job down in NashVegas to find "The Vixen" had sanded all of the Pershing parts so beautifully that they look like they had been injection molded instead of 3D printed. She's informed me that I owe her a manicure. I do indeed!

p.s. That "rocket cat" gag is hilarious!

I heard Nashvegas had a beer shortage at exactly the same time you were there! Coincidence?

No coincidence. Plus, Centerline bbq in Goodletsville experienced a rib shortage after I was there!

The nose cone.

There's an error in step 1 of the instructions. Below the diagram of the (2) largest dimaeter nose cone sections is written: Epoxy leaving a credit card gap between parts B and C. This should actually be between parts D and C.

I've mixed up a good quantity of 30 minute epoxy and applied it to the ID of the mounting socket of part D. I then inserted and rotated part C to an even gap of a credit card (0.030") I then apply the epoxy to part B and insert part A until flush. Note how tight the seam is between parts A and B.

The epoxy is now hard enough to handle the parts. The seam between C and B is NOT glued yet to allow for addition of nose weight. I might epoxy it anyway though, because I don't see why nose weight can't be added from the large open end of part D. I'll look ahead in the instructions and decide.

The 29mm engine mount.

The LOC engine mount tube that I cut to 8" long wouldn't go into the male threaded engine lock ring without a great amount of sanding. Using 120 grit I sanded the tube--rather than the 3D printed ring so as not to weaken the ring. After I achieved a slip-fit I mixed up more 30 minute epoxy and assembled the engine ring, the rear CR (at top,) and the forward CR (at bottom.)

That is a pretty good fit between parts A and B. Parts surface looks good too, though I know you said the “Vixen” (if I may....) did some surface sanding on those parts. What is her report on just how much sanding that required and how much elbow grease did it take?

"The Vixen" claims she sanded the parts (PNC sections, fins, lugs) for approx. 8 hours total. She started with 120 grit and ended with 220 grit. She tried getting them smoother with 320 and 400 but the finer grit papers did nothing but load up. Even with the cutting action of the 120 grit she still had to lay into it and had to rest every half hour to relieve the cramping and to refer to me as "being attracted to my own mom and that my parents were not married." Fortunately I was out of state the whole time she worked on them.

I'm taking her out for a mani/pedi on Sunday--gladly!

I need some help, please.

I've looked ahead in the instructions to page 8: balancing. It says to mount an Aerotech G53W-7 into the model. I don't have one of those yet, so can someone tell me length and the weight of the G53W-7 engine so I can make up a dummy for the balancing?

Thanks!
