I got lucky a few years ago on eBay. I bought an old box full of catalogs for about $40. I guess it was from an estate sale or something. It had most of the catalogs from 1966 through the 90's. I have just been filling in the holes.

I already had some Akela-1 kits from the Boy Scout section of JC Penny's, and my cousins gave me their crashed Red Max, which I repaired, but the Challenger 1 set and some motors for the other rockets was my first catalog purchase as well.

I never completely abandoned the hobby from my first taste in the mid 70's, so I have everything from 78 to present. However, I have added a few early 70's catalogs from Centuri and Estes over the last few years.
