Greetings!

Attached is a picture from 1974 of me launching my Cherokee-D, which I am looking to find on eBay and build once again. I shook my head when I found some listings but once again saw the shape of the balsa fins did not match (at least to me!) the picture of the kit on the front card.

Also in the picture is some screenshots comparing the two shapes from a recent eBay posting. I remember decades ago trying to orient them so they looked like the picture, but the forward and trailing edges were sloped the same direction, whereas the ones on the kit picture are opposite! Is it me?

The early Cherokee-D had two-piece fins to fit the pattern on a narrower sheet of balsa. Later versions used a wider sheet and the fin was one piece. The pattern from my old kit was a two piece fin.

The k-47 scan is from JimZ plans site showing the wider balsa sheet.

Thanks! I'll look for the triangular piece that makes the whole fin. Makes sense if the balsa sheet width was limited. Sure didn't think to look for that 50 years ago, but now I'm thinking that little extra sheet of balsa triangles was probably in there.
