Default A proposal

In as much as:

I never bought the RockSim application and my trial has long ago expired.
Everyone seems to be doing a greek alphabet naming scheme, which reminds me of college.
I never joined a frat but belonged to a "dorm gang" that went by a pseudo-greek name.

I propose:

That someone design a dorm party themed rocket and designate it "Tappa Kegga Bru".
That it be designed somewhat as a "keg lofter".

Exclamation New Plan -- Probe Tau Aquarii

Two stage design, simple 4FNC variety, no open-fin structure to build, but uses the Tau Zero nose cone for style.

Similar to, but not as complicated as, the (very) early Trailblazer design.

Length: 30.25"
Fin Span: 4.54"
Diameter: 1.04" (ST-10)
Weight: 1.73 oz

C6-0 / A8-5......1171'......24 FPS
C6-0 / B6-6......1465'......11 FPS
C6-0 / C6-7......2054'......14 FPS

All stacks require a 48" launch rod, 3/16" diameter, to reach safe flight velocity.

Enjoy!

Don't know if this is what you had in mind, but here's one interpretation...

Length: 39.25"
Diameter: 6.16"
Fin Span: 8.14"
Weight: 23 oz (Not LPR; qualifies as HPR)

F50-T6.......930'......12 FPS
F25-6........930'......21 FPS

A 60" steel rod, 1/4" diameter, is the minimum length recommended for launching this model.

Not a beginner's model.

Enjoy!

Lightbulb New Design: Green Megatron

I'm not Greek I'm Swedish. For the lack of a better name I am calling it the Greem Magatron. Seem to fly quite well on motors from A8 to C6.

Jay, I have day one and day two at NSL 2001 on tape. I probably have you on film somewhere. My most memorable flight was my Estes Tomcat that sucessfully flew on the second day. I haven't flown it since because of the launch area size it requires. My pony Express T-shirt is quite well worn and one of my best shirts.

Thanks Again and Enjoy, JP

Yeah! That's pretty darn close! Too bad the regs say no metal parts. This would make a cool HPR competition for altitude or duration.

Exclamation New Plan -- Razorback

Another in the Schoolyard Sounders series...

A simple-to-build model, but with reasonable performance using the A10-3T.

Length: 23.83"
Diameter: 0.908" (ST-8)
Fin Span: 4.42"
Weight: 1.17 oz

A10-3T......271'......7 FPS

All simulation runs reach flight V in the length of a standard rod.

Enjoy!

Exclamation Revised Plan -- Loadmaster B

Here's a subtle alteration to a plan released a few weeks ago, called Loadmaster. I changed the nose cone from an elliptical BC-833 to the long ogive BC-853, and found some improved deployment numbers. The altitude suffers only very slightly.

Length: 20.81"
Fin Span: 4.43"
Diameter: 0.908" (ST-8)
Weight: 1.19 oz

A8-3.......225'......3 FPS
B4-4.......496'......7 FPS
C6-5......1009'......7 FPS

All motors reach safe flight V in the length of a standard rod.

Enjoy!

Craig,

Where do I have to look in my RockSim files to find this particular figure?

(I've been meaning to ask, and just now remembered.)

Cheers, and thanks,
