Looking for Launch Pad RIM-67A Plan Pack
The Launch Pad's description of the Nike-Ajax indicates the existence of a plan pack for the RIM-67a that describes a staging technique that can be appied to the Nike-Ajax. Unfortunately, the link is disabled. Can someone point me to an on-line article that discusses the staging technique? I seem to recall something about a switch that gets activated with the ejection of a D12-0, igniting an upper stage, and the booster recovering from the ejection charges of the other two D12-5s. I must have read this somewhere, but can't find it online anymore. I'm particularly interested in how the wiring to the upperstage ignitor was routed and how the ignitor was coupled to the wiring.

it's hard to explain in detail but I have just re-started the build on mine.
a small piston is constructed that is activated when the motor scoots backwards from the ejection charge. the piston switch than sends a charge (9v) to the upper stage ignitor. I have seen a Rim 67 fly sucessfully with this system. I'm not far from finishing the booster stage and have the tlp kit for the upper stage ready to build. the stages are connected electronicaly by a 1/8" phono plug. heres a few pics of the booster motor mount and piston. there are around 65 pages to the plan pak http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v...e/TLP%20Rim67a/ this is where I purchased the plan pak and upper stage(standard agm-78) https://blastzone.com/performanceho....asp?groupid=17 Last edited by ScaleNut : 07-10-2007 at 08:22 PM. |

Thanks, ScaleNut
Thank you for the guidance--illustrative pictures and a potential source for the plan kit all in one reply. Fantastic!
