I am confused about part of the rules though.
One part says "NAR Safety Code approved rockets only", but the "Rick Kramer Memorial Flight Award "is given to the most unusual rocket to fly. _____________________________________________ |

The fact that a rocket meets the safety code standards doesn't mean it can't be unusual. Rick was well known for making rockets out of various food containers and he was a big fan of tube fins. There is a member of ROCI who has made some fantastic rockets using Starbucks cups and lids. Check them out on the forum at www.indyrockets.org

I'm building a Mayan pyramid out of foam core that I plan to fly at GARLO as part of the End of the World event. Also I would like to get a bunch of Estes Death Stars to do another Death Star Drag Race as we have done in the past. It's cool when a whole bunch of rockets all break into pieces at the same time, so if you have a Death Star plan to bring it and fly it at GARLO.

I am hoping to have my Stargate Daedalus there (and ready). Since my launch field has been planted, that might be it's first launch as well.

We had a great time there today!
Had hoped mine would fare better than they did, but no crashes. ___________________________ |

Thought I would post some of the pictures others took since mine didn't come out. Of course I will start with pictures that include my stuff!
My Ascendant flew great even though everyone was more impressed with the cardstock Icarus. And my Daedalus on the launch stand. Also, I put in the last picture because I thought it was cool of Estes to donate a box of free rockets for the kids! There were several times I got out of line to let them launch ahead of me. __________________________________ |
