2nd and Final igniter plug & More
Attached are some photos og my final version igniter plugs. The base is made from pla/cf. the igniter pyrogen bead butts right up directly against the propellant so ignition is assured. the final version will be 10mm od and have a 13mm tape disc on the bottom to attach it to the engine casing.
the single layer 2" sq piece of pla/cf weighs a scant 0.325 grams per sq in. It is flexible in both the x and y axis. There are a number of uses for it: shrouds, boattails, shoulders, shock cord anchors, fin skins, patches, reinforcements, etc. Use your imagination. It obviously could also be rolled into tubes of various diameters. for small BP rocket use ABS/cf or PETG/Cf would probably be better than pla/cf as they both have higher temperature ceilings., so they could stand ejection charges.
