Estes ESAM-58, EST0661, A Hobby Lobby Exclusive
Attached are several screen shots and the RockSim simulation file I created for the Estes ESAM-58, EST 0661, exclusively from Hobby Lobby. The file should be compatible with Open Rocket (it would be nice to see an OR sim of this kit with the decals on it). The simulated performance is a lot less than claimed on the face card. I doubt this rocket would get to 800ft AGL with a C6-5 motor (my simulation says 500ft AGL) and the performance on B motors (B4-4 and B6-4) to about 180ft AGL might be dangerous especially in a windy situation. Anyone build and fly this one yet?

I think the ESAM-58 would be fine with a B6-4, in a small field with little or no wind.
Estes sued to recommend the Big Bertha with an A8-3. I did that once . . . I don't think the A8-3s have the oomph they did in the late 1960s and 70s.
