Old project - new decals
I've had these two plus several others for a while now, but it takes a lot to actually get me to sit down and commit to a decal session. Between last night and tonight I finally got these finished. The Goony Max is the second one I've built. The first one is hanging in a tree just at the edge of B6-4 Field. I'm planning some small field flying there tomorrow, so maybe #2 will have better luck.
Pardon the flash. Not enough light to get good pics after dinner.

What a crock! I went up to B6-4 Field and found it crowded with kids. They're playing BASEBALL on my launch field! Who ever heard of playing BASEBALL on a BASEBALL field on a Saturday in July?
Ah, well. Looks like todays Goony launch is a scrub. Nice weather, too. Tomorrow is supposed to be decent, and Sundays are usually quiet on the ballfields around here, so my launch window might still be open. It's good to see actual baseball games going on up there. They're usually playing soccer.

Yeah, I fly at an airfield, R47 (with the manager's permission of course). Some days they've actually got crop dusters (Turboprop Thrushes) going in and out holding up the launches with their traffic. The problem is that light winds are agreeable to both. I just find out how long they're taking between loads, then have a spotter help me watch for any traffic just before countdown.

More to the story.......
So anyway, I decided to go back on Sunday afternoon to try my luck again, only to find a softball practice going on at the field. I was due at some friends house for dinner anyway, so I went home and got ready for that. As I was leaving my house, my van suddenly started acting funny, and I don't mean Ha-Ha. Dropped the transmission about 200 yards out of the driveway. It only had 116,000 miles on it. GEEZ! They sure don't make them like they used to.

Bill, Man, that sucks, if such language is permitted on this forum. What make/model/year vehicle was it? I'm currently driving my wife's old 1993 Ford Escort with 153,000 miles on it and broken A/C. This car has had minimal maintenance done on it and just keeps chugging along... which I hope it'll keep doing until I can (someday) afford to replace it. I hope whatever you have to do with your vehicle won't be too outrageously expensive.

It's a 1999 Ford Windstar. I've had nothing but good luck with it and really haven't had to do much more than normal wear and tear work on it. It's been paid off for a year and I'm not ready to get back into the car market, so I'm going to fix it. Big $$$, but it beats starting all over again.
