I recently acquired two OOP TCB Dart kits, 29mm diameter with long basswood nose cone and thin fiberglass fins. Looks like 29mm LOC airframes with white glassine. I may build a booster stage with Nike fins for one to fly two staged on Estes E16 and F15 staged flights.

Not a very good pic that I took of the two kits in low light with my iPad. I may post to a new thread after opening one of the kits. I did a recent inventory of kits and parts on hand so I'm shuffling my queue to get started on some builds to fly this fall.

TCB? How far back do these go? What kind of design are we talking about?

The seller said he acquired the kits about ten years ago.

Design is 4FNC min dia 29mm with a single piece of LOC style tube with 1/16" thick FG fins. Solid basswood nose cone about 9-1/4" long with braided nylon cord shock cord mount and 1/4" launch lug and a streamer and paper fin alignment template. Assembly manual is well written and detailed.

I will most likely start a new thread with pictures and make a RockSim or OpenRocket file for it available when I get into the build.

I've been distracted by the imminent, now a done-deal, death of my father*. To keep busy while waiting for word from the hospice unit I started simul-building:

PSII Argent
PSII Nike Smoke
D-Region Tomahawk

I added Tyvek cord anchors to the PS-II models, and strategic bits of epoxy to the Tomahawk.

I'm going to pre-paint the fins of the Tomahawk, so I don't have to mask them.

It will be a stretch, but I hope to have these at least in primer by the big Sheridan launch the weekend after next.

*He was in horrible, horrible shape after years of slowly accumulating problems. Just his time to go, after a long busy life and over two decades of prosperous retirement, so it's sad but not tragic. I got to see him at his 80th birthday last month.

Condolences Stefan in your loss. It's never 'easy' even when the end is expected or even 'welcome' to relieve suffering of the affirmed.

Prayers to you and your family at this time. I'm glad you had the recent visit. Keep the good memories close at heart. Those are the 'gold' we carry with us the rest of our lives.

God Bless,

Earl

Sorry for your loss. 2014 has been a rough year for Dads. Sounds like ours both went out the same way. To me, the fact that the last years were so bad was far worse than the eventual, inevitable end.

A little something that I pulled together, in between some other projects. Parts by Semroc, the paint is Testors Two Part Lacquer. I liked the paint, but very much disliked the White Primer that goes with this system. Otherwise a simple and fun project; always nice to have one of those!

I am so sorry for your loss stefanj. I never got to really say good bye to my dad. I am glad you had that time with him
