Most all of those drawings are from Jim Ball's Scale Data website.
Some other stuff too. https://web.archive.org/web/2006100...-data/scale.htm Most of my XAIM-54 data is of the "A" model and not the "C" model shown in the drawings. The "A" data has been published in the JMRC's newsletter Total Impulse Mar/Apr 2019. It was even in one of the NAR's Member Guidebook editions. This version has the later style nose cone. Okay, instead of starting a new thread......
I bought a Mad Cow 4" Phoenix but there are no motor recommendations. I want to fly it on a H impulse. Anyone know which motors to use?

OK . . . A couple of questions. (1) How much does it weigh ? (2) What size ( diameter ) motor mount does it have ? (3) Are you Certified Level 1 ? https://www.madcowrocketry.com/content/pdf/phoenix.pdf https://www.madcowrocketry.com/4-phoenix/ https://www.madcowrocketry.com/cont...phoenix.rkt.zip Dave F. |

Hey Dave -
Yep, your references answer all your questions except if I'm Level 1 certified. 1. 60 oz (not including motor) 2. 38mm 3. Yes Since I don't have RockSim, I didn't think I could use the RockSim file on the website. But, low and behold, OpenRocket can use RockSim files. H45 with a 6 second delay is looking good..... Thanks Dave

Whatever motor you choose, MAKE SURE of your CP and CG location . . . The AIM-54 PHOENIX has a LOT of Forward Fin Area and would not "take kindly" to a CG location error ! Be careful and have a great flight ! Dave F. |
