Thanks for the detailed build-thread Jeff!

Now that I have a home shop I need to think about building my Estes Saturn V . . . and eventually my Apogee Saturn V.

Jeff-

Nice build, but I know you probably don't want to hear this, but the first stage (SI-C) roll patterns should only go up to the *bottom* of the inter tank wrap (the next wrap up from the very bottom wrap).

There was one Saturn V (the 500-F facilities checkout mockup Saturn V from May, 1966 timeframe) that had the lower roll pattern somewhat like yours, but no flying Saturn V did.

I don't have a typical Saturn V image handy to show, but I'm sure an image could be googled fairly quickly.

I am amazed at your ability to not only build so quickly, but also to be able to photograph AND post updates on your builds as well. I just can't manage the time to hardly do a build much less all the other along with it. You must teach us all some 'project management' secrets!

OMG!! I can't believe I screwed that up--but I most certainly did! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I think I can correct it--if I can shoot primer over dull coat. If I can't, then this SV will have to fly!

How do I have so much time? Easy! I'm injured AND unemployed.......but that's about to change: I get released by the doctor next week AND start my new job!

I mentioned this in post #100 the same day JJ shot the black coat in hopes he could correct it before getting too deep in finishing. I've posted in a couple other of his build threads and got no replies, so I guess Jeff has me blocked.

I don't have anyone blocked.

I didn't understand what you were correcting me on in post #100 because you said "Interstage Wrap" instead of "Intertank Wrap". Therefore, when I looked at the Interstage wrap and couldn't find the flaw, I moved. In hindsight I should have asked you to elaborate.

The fault is all mine. I have to sit back and look at the photos and drawings more often instead of going by memory!

Or you could just go all the way and add that horizontal stripe around the intertank. I always thought that looked better anyway.
