What paint did you use for the NC and fin? I used cheap 99 cent Walmart acrylic craft paint (Pueblo color) and kept adding coats with an airbrush until I got the shade that matched my catalog photo.

IIRC, I looked at that color, or at least one of the oranges. My catalog looked slightly darker and and a bit more brown than some pics I've seen on the net so I wanted to try to match it directly. In hindsight, yours looks better.

I used Aero Gloss Stearman Red Dope on my Semroc Clone and used Testors Bright Red Enamel on my original.
I think the Stearman Red looks better on my two Scramblers, but the Testors Bright Red is closer to the correct catalog color.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, and HAVOC !

Nice stuff there Bill!

Had a look at your 'collection' and all I can say is Wow! Next time my wife bugs me about "You sure you need 'another' rocket" I will point her toward your blog!

I am fortunate in that I do not have a wife to inhibit my hobbies. Of course, you married dudes are going to outlive me by a considerable bit - I suppose there are trade offs in everything

Thank you for the kind words about the fleet. I have been into rockets for over 47 years and don't intend to slow down now
