Thanks as always for the entertaining read.

I don't understand why the Rocketarium Viking is a two-motor cluster. The full-scale rocket it is based on (Navy RTV-N-12 round 7) had a single engine. I did a BT-80-sized model of the same prototype (with a 29mm motor mount) for my Giant Sport Scale entry at the NARAM just past. It turned out to be a nice flyer.

I thought you were talking about animals in Springfield...

A bad day flying rockets beats a good day at work and you do not appear to have had a totally bad day.

Always a good read, Bill. Glad for your successful Eliminator launch. Sad about the Ranger mishap, but hope it is repairable.

It's pretty bulky, but I would opt for a 24mm mount instead of the 2x18mm if I was to build it again.

Bill

Despite all the carnage I had a good time. I don't fly them to keep them pristine. Who am I kidding? I don't think I've ever flown anything pristine.

Definitely repairable, but it's way deep in the repair queue. The Viking is the one I'll concentrate on fixing first.

Great flight report as always, Bill.
Always enjoy hearing about a POWR-VEER flight of less than all motors in a cluster ignite.
Hope it didn't damage much.

Astron Ranger, Renegade, and Sky Raider are all-time favorite classics.
I've never been brave enough to use 3xC6-5 in my Ranger. Most it has ever gotten is 3xB8-5

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, AGITATION, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, AGGRAVATION, INSTIGATION, NUISANCE-ACTION, and HAVOC !

Everything should be repairable. The worst damage to the Ranger came when I tried to extricate the unlit motor and pulled the whole mount out.
