1/100 and ant scale Soviet N1 moon rocket.
I m developing parts for these 2 rockets and would like any input from the peanut gallery on generally what they would like for me to share to make the rocket themselves. 1 do you prefer more traditional building techniques , ie paper shrouds and bodytubes? or do you prefer a 3d printed body on top of a bodytube core backbone? Myself i prefer the latter with minimum 3d printed jewelry to add , such as the interstages, and greebles. I would like to do a body tube for stage 4? Does anyone know how close we can get a stock bodytube 59.2 mm diameter?
I am aware of the kits available , and i fault them in no way for making a profit. However i am a CHEAP@$$ rocketeer, and want to save myself and others money if and when possible. Also I really enjoy the added creativity and challenges of cloning a kit or scratchbuilding . It just isnt as fun if i am following instructions. How about you? |

I'm going to throw my 2 cents in here.
If you do a "kit" make it a COMPLETE Kit. None of that garbage of "minus decals" like the old TLP kits, nor "minus body tubes" like the 3D printed supposed "kits" that require the builder to gather a bunch of separate parts for tubes, recovery, etc. Short of that, all is good in my book....just make it complete.

Wasn't planning on making a kit. Moree like downloadable parts and instructions to complete. There are already 2 kits available. I don't have the time to do this even as a side hustle business.

The N-1 has always intrigued me as model. The Really Koo Stuff kits seem nice, but you are not really building anything. I have the Altairia model that I got quite a while back at a bargain price. I just don't have it in me right now to attempt such a build. There is also a cardstock model described here:

At 2.34", the Centuri LT-225 is very close. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued by SEMROC. Bill

Nola bar, thank you for that link, I had lost track of where I downloaded it. I used that as a resource to make my 3d model. It was my intention originally to build that model, and use it as a skin.
