I think Jeff Vincent was working on one, or planning to, in the 1980's. Do not recall if he built and flew it or not. Was going to be R/C, perhaps for E6 power.

Would be incredibly difficult to do it with a rocket engine in the jet engine mount, due to the thrustline/CG offset problem.

More practical way would be to put the rocket engine in the rear fuselage.

But still, issues of mass and drag offset of the big jet engine pod, and needing to use a LOT of noseweight to make it stable. And getting perfect zero incidence between wing and stab (unless RC'ed, where that could be trimmed out).
