A NAR Club used to fly at my high school once a month back in the late 70's.
I had my Quasar and Patriot at the first launch we heard about in ~1978.
Saw a chrome one there and looked far better than my white cone/fin can one.
At the time I didn't understand there was an earlier version.
Got my first Cherokee-D along with paks of D12-5 and D12-7 at that launch.
Lost the Cherokee-D at same field two months later on a D12-7 and that stupidly large 18" chute.
