Yep, I remember that too about Red Line having frame crack repairs by the local weld shops.
For the price, they should have had entire replacements under warranty. Maybe they were warrantied, but the riders didn't want to hassle with the time factor. They should have just replaced the entire bikes for the ridiculous up front cost. The three brands nobody ever had trouble with were Mongoose, GT, and Hutch. Those were built like tanks.
