Sorry I didn't see your post until now.
To answer your question, I flew the the FlatCat in October of 2018.
It launched straight up on a B4-2 motor, transitioned into a glide immediately, and took off in a great circular glide pattern.
Unfortunately, it caught a thermal and headed downwind without perceptible altitude loss. I chased it for about half a mile until I ran up against an airport perimeter fence.
The pop-pod was recovered and I have since built another glider. I have attached a couple photos of the liftoff of that fateful flight.
