Eighth flight of the day would be the Estes Astron X-Ray that I cloned several years ago, but had only flown once before today. Seeing it on the pad in the bright sunlight makes me wonder why. The Rocket Red paint really pops and is set off nicely by the white. The decal adds a nice vintage touch. I really lucked out with the crayons on this one.
The A8-3 flight was more than enough for the field. High and fairly straight, it topped out around 350' and ejection occurred over the infield. The same vintage Estes 6" chute handled the recovery and brought it down fast and straight to the dirt at shortstop.
