I remember the first time seeing the series of US manned rockets from MR through the Saturn V modeled in 1/100 scale. That Mercury-Redstone was simply dwarfed by the Saturn V, and it really drove home the tremendous increase in vehicle size as payload requirements increased on our march to the moon.
