The picture of the Aero-Dyne in the 1964 catalog looks like there is one of those external "passport" staging couplers on at least the top of the second stage. Looking at instructions for the Micro-Probe and Arrow 300, the standard construction for a booster seems to be:

1. An airframe tube,
2. An engine block glue to the airframe so the nozzle end of the engine is flush with the end of the airframe,
3. Topped off with the staging coupler.

If the Aero-Dyne had the same construction as other Centuri staged model rockets (witht eh exception of the Black Widow) this arrangement suggests a booster length of 3-inches.
